Business Analyst


We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our growing Analytics team. This role will partner with key stakeholders, team members, and technical teams to help define KPIs and the data structure needed to deliver those KPIs, as well as build reports and automations to serve various departments including the marketing, finance, operations, editorial, CRM, and partnership teams. 

What this position entails:

  • Analytics Enablement: Build processes, automation, visualizations and dashboards of key business metrics utilizing various tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, Excel, and SQL scripts to help key stakeholders effectively understand performance, track business goals, and make data driven strategic decisions
  • Self Service: Identify and create self serve tools to allow teams to access data and insights on demand
  • Data Quality: Structure and standardize data outputs and transformation rules to be reporting friendly, accurate, and consistent to ensure it is trusted by the organization
  • Ad Hoc Requests: Help to manage the ad hoc request queue, including creating process and SLAs around ad hoc requests
  • Culture and Change Management: Cultivate an insights driven culture at TIDAL 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure, report, and analyze key performance indicators across TIDAL’s business initiatives, focusing on data sets such as subscription data, streaming information, campaign performance, and activity rates
  • Use of tools such as Google Analytics and Appsflyer to gain a better understanding of digital acquisition performance for TIDAL
  • Creation of automated workflows using tools such as Alteryx or SQL queries that standardize data extracts using large, complicated data sets
  • Execute and improve data quality processes to ensure the data is readily available, relevant, consistent and accurate
  • Creation of sophisticated visual dashboards in Tableau that can be leveraged across the business
  • Part of a center of excellence team for Tableau reporting, assisting the organization with development, training, and administration of Tableau as an Analytics Enablement resource
  • Derive insights and provide recommendations through analyses of large data sets for the organization

Requirements & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Administration or comparable required; MBA is a plus
  • One year or more of analytics experience required, with some experience developing reports in Tableau
  • Strong knowledge and experience with database structures, SQL and MS Excel are a must
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Appsflyer / Adjust, and Alteryx a strong plus

Skills & Abilities: 

  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills
  • Able to explain complex analysis to a non-technical audience; the ability to “tell stories” using data
  • Experience creating SQL queries; strong knowledge of relational databases
  • Experience with enterprise BI and dashboard reporting tools, particularly Tableau
  • Experience with web analytics tools (i.e. Google Analytics, Omniture SiteCatalyst, Adjust, Appsflyer, etc).
  • Expert level proficiency with Excel and other analytical software to gather and assess data
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively (and collaboratively) deliver results in cross-functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with good writing ability
